Montpeyroux is located at the foot of the Masif Central in the Herault (Departement 34) of the Languedoc-Rousillon Region. It is a region which is rich in history, culture and magnificent scenery.
The historic and vibrant regional capital city of Montpellier, with its fine contrast of classic and ulta modern architecture, theatres, and museums is any easy 0h40 drive away.  The Mediterranean Sea can be reached in only 0h45 where there are miles and miles of sandy beaches. There are a multitude of restaurants by the beaches and along the Etang du Thau which specialise in freshly-caught sea food dishes. The region is a paradise for ramblers with numerous easy/hard, short/long rambles, and for artists with stunning views from the gite's patio.  Within 2 kms there are about 30 geocache points, and there are 5 golf courses within 0h25 - 0h55 drive away. In winter the nearest ski slopes are only 1h40 drive north to Mont Aigoual.  At A Place In The Vines you can choose whether to relax on the patio, in the pool or discover one of France's best kept secrets ... ... the beauty of the Languedoc.
