Overview

A Place In The Vines is situated an easy 5 minute stroll from the centre of the historic village of Montpeyroux. It is overlooked by the floodlit ruins of Le Castellas.

Montpeyroux is located at the foot of the large limestone Causses of the Masif Central below the Larzac highlands, with Mont St Baudile (2,750ft) and the Seranne massif towering above. To the south the Herault plain runs down to the Mediterranean Sea

Strategically built along the old trading routes, pilgrims trudged their way along the drailles from Jerusalem and Rome to the shrine of Saint- Jacques de Compostella in north-west Spain.

Today, Montpeyroux is a thriving village with a worldwide renown for producing seriously good wines.
